Why is it taking place?

Manchester Maccabi is one of the most integral communal buildings in North Manchester. It earns revenue through use of its facilities, donations and fundraising events. Due to the pandemic, 2020 has been a difficult year for events, and this is an opportunity for us to put on an event that we believe many people would love to take part in.

What will the funds go towards?

The 3G (artificial) pitch is a key earner for the club as it is hired out for mini games of football by people of all backgrounds across the North Manchester community 6 days a week. The pitch is now over 14 years old and is in need of replacement and upgrading to a higher quality 4G surface. The FA have agreed to fund £50,000 so we need to raise the remaining £50,000 by July 2021. Therefore 100% of the funds raised will contribute to the new pitch.

Who can take part?

Anyone. We would love to have people of all age, ability, sex and race. Whether you would like to play on your own or even better encourage friends, family and associates, we would love you to come and share this experience with us.

Am I playing with my friends or as a team?

Either. The idea is that similar abilities, ages etc will play with / against one another. Therefore you can enter individually or with a few friends or with an entire team if you want. You let us know who wants to play and we will arrange the logistics to ensure a great experience all round.

Where will it be?

On the very pitch itself that needs to be replaced. At the Maccabi Centre in Prestwich.

How will the day work?

As we are expecting a large number of participants, it will require a lot of organisation. Therefore when putting your name down to play, please give us your preferences on time slots and we will formalise times as we work towards the event. Times slots will be an hour of football.

There will also be refreshments to purchase throughout the day, and a medical team on site if needed.

How much does it cost and how much are we hoping to raise?

We feel that £25 per player is a reasonable amount to enjoy the experience and contribute towards our goal. We are hoping the day will raise in excess of £10,000.
