Manchester Maccabi CSC car park charging from Sunday 13th Dec 2020
The Executive of Manchester Maccabi CSC have regrettably decided that with effect from Sunday December 13th to start charging £1 per car to park at the club.
Initially this will be from the hours of 9am-2pm on Sundays only, but the club reserve the right to vary the hours as they see fit.
Please note this is not a fundraising exercise as we are employing an external security company, RK9 to oversee the process.
This obviously comes at a cost and the charge of £1 per car will hopefully enable the club to break even, as it seems likely this will actually result in a loss to the club.
Please note that the payment has to be in cash, as we are not in a position to take card payments in the car park.
It would really help if you could have the money ready to avoid a backlog onto Bury Old Road.
The reasons why we have decided to implement this now are as follows -
The safety of anyone visiting the club is key and the car park is becoming a dangerous hot spot when busy
Young children are not as aware of traffic movement as adults, and they are particularly at risk when vehicles move around in the car park
A number of people park and drive in the car park with little regard for others despite polite requests not to do so
Club staff and volunteers have been subjected to abuse when trying to enforce sensible parking in the past which is not acceptable
The recent partnership with Feast which sees a food provision in the car park will inevitably produce more traffic movements at the club on a Sunday
We hope that people understand that this is purely a safety issue, and even though it is likely to cost the club money, the avoidance of a serious incident is worth the cost.
There will be no exceptions to anyone paying other than club staff, so this will include all volunteers, opposition teams, match officials and supporters.
In addition, any customers for Feast (between 9am - 2pm on a Sunday) will also have to pay, even if they are just collecting food, which Ed Shaerf, the owner of Feast is aware of.
Should anyone feel that they wish to seek a better explanation of this policy then please call the club on 0161 492 0040 and an Executive member will return your call.
